Mass Distribution Module

The Mass Distribution Module is an easy way to process a large number of exports where you want to send a unique output of the same report to many destinations.

This optional module allows you to connect to an ODBC data source to select and ID field and a destination. For each record that is returned Navarre Report Scheduler will update the report passing the ID field to a selected parameter and then refresh the report before exporting to the new destination.

This is a very powerful and unique way to process thousands of exports to clients, customers, sales staff, statements, invoices, etc. Anyway where you want to deliver a single unique Crystal report to a list of recipients.

This is currently possible in Navarre Report Scheduler without this addition module but you would have to create a job for each "customer" and if you have a large number of these it can become very time consuming to create and then manage them all. This module is recommended for when you want to send a unique Crystal report to at least 50 recipients.

Below is a walk through of how simple it is to send a unique Crystal report to thousands of recipients all through a single job in Navarre Report Scheduler.

Connection

"Connection"

The first step in the process of setting up a Mass Distribution job is to select its option in the "Job Type" screen in the wizard. This will display the first of five tabs which is where you select an ODBC connection to connect to retrieve the list of recipients.

Export Field

"Export Field"

This tab is where you select the table and the field in the ODBC database that contains the export destination. In this case an email address.
Parameter Link

"Parameter Link"

In this tab you select the ID field in the database and the parameter in the report. This link is used to generate a unique report for each export.

Record Selection

"Record Selection"

This tab allows you to apply filters to the record set. Currently up to 4 filters can be used on the table.

Completion

"Completion"

Here in this final tab you can have a selected field be updated when Navarre Report Scheduler starts the processing of a record and when it completes. This helps in tracking which records were processed.
